There is more joy in giving than there is in receiving so says the holy book. Nevertheless, showing acts of kindness has become not just a way of expressing sympathy; it has also become a way of chasing clout. On the other hand, many find it easy to make donations through the use of contributions, even on social media while filming live.
For others, they enjoy easy access to recipients. With the aid of technology, charitable acts have become convenient by just pushing cash or support through the touch of a mobile device. However, many are still not satisfied with using technology due to cyber-theft or crime.
To discuss how charitable acts are under threat in Africa and could be better enhanced, we were joined by Olamide Jasanya, Founder, ProjectGiiv.
